FLY LINE AND TIPPET:   One of the most important things to remember about fly line and tippet is that they don’t last forever.  Generally, tippet has a useful lifespan of a year or so, after which it weakens and its weight rating begins to decline.  So it’s important to replace your leaders and tippet every year.  The cost is minimal, and even though leaders will break, you don’t want to do is lose a good fish because you were using last year’s tippet.
